WHY RENT A NISSAN IN ICELAND?

What you should be saying is ‘how can I not rent a Nissan for my Iceland adventure?’. Nissan stands for innovation, safety, efficiency and style! Let’s take a closer look at what makes Nissan the perfect choice for your Iceland 4x4 rental:

  • Innovation. Nissan has been implementing its own state-of-the-art Intelligent Mobility system in all of its vehicles since 2020 and includes unique features, such as detecting other vehicles on the road to warn you about blind spots, automatic speed adjustment to avoid collisions when in heavy traffic, and even automatically applying the breaks in imminent front-end impact situations.

  • Safety. It may not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think about why to choose your Iceland Nissan rental, but it’s clearly the most important! Iceland’s harsh weather and the wide variety of landscapes on the island can be risky if the vehicle you choose isn’t equipped with the latest safety features, such as front and side airbags, rearview cameras and stability control. Stay calm, stay safe!

  • Efficiency. Nissan’s e-Power engines combine combustion and hybrid technologies to greatly reduce fuel consumption, making your Iceland road trip that much more affordable (gas prices are very high!). Save on fuel and make every penny count! Enjoy yummy food or exciting day trips across the Land of Fire and Ice while keeping your transport costs to a minimum.

  • Style. Performance is great but… why not look amazing while cruising around Iceland too? When you get into your Nissan rental you’ll realize that it exudes class, inside and out. Wood and chrome accents, soft-touch materials and upgraded seating on the inside and distinctive, streamline and modern angles on the outside. A little less conversation, a little more action. Grab the keys and hit the road!

Frequently Asked Questions

Got questions? You’re in luck! We’ve already provided answers to the most common questions regarding car rentals in Iceland.

The best locations to rent a Nissan in Iceland are our Reykjavik and Keflavik International Airport offices.

Our pick-up and drop-off services are available 365 days a year. Fill in all the required information when you complete your booking and we’ll take you to your rental vehicle in a jiffy!

Super Jeeps are highly modified 4x4 off-road vehicles on very large tires. While fun to look at and drive due to their gigantic wheels and overall size, they are 5 times more expensive than regular 4x4 rentals in Iceland and don’t offer any true benefits in terms of usability or practicality.

The only thing that sets Super Jeeps apart is their capacity to drive on glaciers; however, this can be done on a regular trip and snowmobiles are usually the preferred choice!

Renting the Nissan Qashqai in Iceland for 1 week will cost you around $931 ($133 per day), while the Nissan X-Trail is currently at $693 ($99 per day). This may vary depending on the season.

You can choose from a wide range of essentials you might need during your trip: multiple types of insurance, extra driver, roof box, baby seat, Wi-Fi, GPS… You name it, we’ve got it!

Yes! There will be no mountain too high or valley too low for you to cross. No matter what Nissan you choose, the Nissan Qashqai and the X-Trail are great for going around the Ring Road and Reykjavik, as well as venturing down dirt trails and F-roads!

Please note that you may encounter rivers on these roads but we do NOT recommend crossing them, as the rental car insurance does not cover any damage caused while doing so.

The Nissan Qashqai and the Dacia Duster are both 4x4 SUVs but notable differences can be observed between them!

The Nissan Qashqai is slightly larger, more powerful and includes a ton more features than the Duster, such as autonomous steering, acceleration and brake control. The Duster, on the other hand, is a sturdy vehicle that will get you where you need to go, but that has been built with practicality in mind, thus dispensing with all the ‘extra’ comfort that the Qashqai has to offer but providing slightly more trunk space.

Having trouble deciding on one over the other? It’s all about priorities!

Want to look good every mile of the way, feel like the world is at your feet every time you rev the engine and experience maximum comfort and safety at all times? Hello Nissan Qashqai.

Or do you want an all-round, baggage-friendly, sturdy road companion that will get you to the farthest places on the island at the lowest price possible? Rent a Dacia Duster!

Just how different are they in terms of price? Well, you can rent the Qashqai for a daily $133 vs $110 per day for the Duster.

Both vehicles are guaranteed to be excellent choices for you during your Iceland road trip, so pick your favorite and enjoy the drive!
