If you want to rent a car with us, you’ll need:

• To be at least 20 years of age (+23 for Large SUV models)
• A valid ID or passport
• An original driver’s license (valid for at least 12 months)
• A valid credit card of one of the passengers

Yes, there is. The minimum rental period for any vehicle is 48 hours.

All driving licenses held for a minimum of 12 months and issued from the USA, Canada and the European Economic Area (EEA) are valid in Iceland. A driving license from anywhere else will be valid if it has:

• A license number
• The license holder's photograph
• A valid date
• Been printed in Latin characters

Your Reykjavik Cars rental package includes:

• Unlimited Mileage
• PAI (Personal Accident Insurance)/Third-party liability insurance
• Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)
• Winter tires (from November to April)
• 24% Local VAT

Book your car rental before coming to Iceland by using our secure online payment system. All you need to do is:

• Select the vehicle and the extras that you want
• Leave a deposit to secure your reservation
• Collect your rental vehicle and pay the remaining balance

We accept credit card payments with Visa, MasterCard and, in specific cases, American Express.

Yes, you do.

You’ll need a credit card to cover any extra costs, such as fines for traffic offenses, vehicle damage, fuel and any other costs directly related to the use of the car. At the start of the rental, we will save your credit card information in order to cover these costs.

Yes, in most cases you do! The amount is equivalent to the insurance policy’s franchise, i.e., for the basic CDW insurance it comes to 350,000 ISK.

If you want to modify your booking, please send us an email to info@reykjavikcars.com and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

No, we cannot. However, should the chosen vehicle not be available, we will offer you a vehicle from the same or a higher category.

Yes, just send us an email to info@reykjavikcars.com with detailed information of your request, and we’ll do our best to make it happen!

If you cancel your rental agreement more than 2 days before its start date, you will receive a complete refund.

If you cancel less than 2 days from the start date, you won’t be eligible for a refund. The same applies if you do not collect your vehicle (No Show). You can check our Terms & Conditions or send an email to info@reykjavikcars.com should you wish to cancel or modify your reservation.
